About Us

The Warrnambool Multicultural Association (WMA) is a volunteer-led not-for-profit community organisation that promotes cultural awareness, celebrates diversity, and strengthens intercultural connections across Warrnambool and South West Victoria.
Founded in 2022 by Jin Kim, Daisy Ye, Wei-Lin Mai, Oksana Yakushchenko, and Kerrie Nicholson, WMA was built on a shared belief that everyone deserves to feel welcomed, connected and valued in the community they call home.
We are committed to respectfully engaging with and learning from local First Nations communities, recognising the enduring cultural heritage and contributions of Traditional Owners across the region. We believe intercultural connection is strengthened when First Nations voices and perspectives are respected and included as a central part of our shared community.
As South West Victoria continues to grow, WMA aims to help create a region where people from all cultural backgrounds can participate, contribute and thrive, while also creating opportunities for the wider community to connect through culture, learning and shared experiences.
Through festivals, events, partnerships, advocacy and community engagement, WMA works to strengthen social cohesion and celebrate the rich cultural diversity that makes our region stronger.
